Commercial Bay

The Commercial Bay is a custom design, that was created by Pressed Tin Panels®, for the Commercial Bay precinct in Auckland NZ. The design is featured on the ceiling of the main front entrance and throughout the shopping area of the precinct.

Commissioned by the Fletcher Construction company,  the design team of Warren and Mahoney, worked cohesively with Racquel, over a course of several months, to develop the perfect design for this important new Auckland development. The design was required to be sympathetic to the culture and indigenous history of the land and its people and to complement the design aspects of the rest of the precinct.

Racquel worked alongside Steve from Forman Commercial Interiors in Auckland to help in the installation process and the completion of this massive project. It was a honour to work alongside these 3 companies to create a stunning new pressed metal design that we can now share with you.

Pressed Tin Panels® was specifically sort after, due to our extensive knowledge and expertise within this field. It is well known that Racquel has been in the manufacturing industry since the mid 1980’s. Her wealth of knowledge, combined with her passion for design, was the perfect combination to work cohesively with the designers for this project.

Panel Specifications:

• The panels are made from a specialised, mill grade aluminium that is approximately 0.55mm thick.
• All of our aluminium panels are treated with a non-chromate treatment which prepares the surface for subsequent priming and painting or powder coating.
• Painting or powder coating is recommended as without it panels are porous and surface scratches may be present as a result of the manufacturing process.
