The Flannel Flower panel is a traditional ceiling panel that was extremely sought after in its day and is still, to this day one of the most inquired about ceiling panels. It features swags of flowers around the square pattern repeat and is finished with whispy, ribbon effects. The pattern was reproduced by Pressed Tin Panels® for a large project under taken by David Peak from our distributors: Period Details in Bayswater, VIC. See the full Flannel Flower story below.
The Flannel Flower design is suitable for a wide range of wall or ceiling installations and can be painted or powder coated in a myriad of colours. Suggested usage includes: feature walls, ceilings, counter fronts and many more.
- The panels are made from a specialised, mill grade aluminium that is approximately 0.55mm thick.
- All of our aluminium panels are treated with a non-chromate treatment which prepares the surface for subsequent priming and painting or powder coating.
- Painting or powder coating is recommended as without it panels are porous and surface scratches may be present as a result of the manufacturing process.

The Flannel Flower Story
The Flannel Flower seemed to be only found in the more prestige homes of its era and for this reason was hard to source to reproduce. Racquel, our managing director, was once told that if she ever found and reproduced this panel for today’s generation, that she would be the queen of pressed metal in Australia. And as a result of our story we can officially say that Racquel is the queen of Pressed Tin Panels® in Australia.
The pattern was reproduced for a large project under taken by David Peak from Period Details in VIC. David like us has a strong passion for period products and was more than willing to undertake the project. He undertook the massive job of removing all the original panels we required by hand, to reproduce the fine examples for this project. Removal of all the old panels was a huge, tiring and dirty job as it involved the careful removal of all the old nails so not to damage the original panels. It was only due to David’s immense passion for that this project could be completed and enjoyed on his behalf.
The reproduction of the panel, as with any of our panels is an incredibly large project that takes months of dedication on behalf of whole team at Pressed Tin the of. We reproduce the design, like all of our products, in a specialised mill grade aluminium that ensures the product is durable and will last forever. Like all of our panels, we keep stock of this design, making it available to you 365 days of the year!
